Music-infused assembly reminds students their lives have value and their voices matter
Waverly, Neb., (Nov. 26, 2025) — Keynote speaker, executive coach and recording artist Michael King will bring his YOU ARE THE GIFT experience to Waverly High School, offering freshmen and sophomores a powerful message about self-worth during a season that can feel heavier than it looks.
The complimentary assembly begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Waverly High School, 13401 Amberly Rd., Waverly, NE 68462.
A Gift to His Community
King, who lives in Waverly with his family, including two children who attend the school, saw an opportunity to serve a community that doesn’t often receive programs of this caliber.
YOU ARE THE GIFT is a music-infused assembly designed to remind students of something they don’t hear nearly enough: their life has value, their voice matters, and who they are is significant. The experience helps young people reframe the holiday season, find hope in their own stories, and see themselves as the gift the world needs, exactly as they are.
Why It Matters
For many students, the holidays aren’t great. Family dynamics, pressure and past experiences can make this season feel heavier than it looks. But the season can be meaningful when students understand their own worth.
